Tina Rea, Shiatsu Practitioner

For over 24 years I have had the pleasure of being a Shiatsu practitioner in the Portland Metro area, working with and learning from 100’s of diverse clients. Every session is unique and created for that individual at that moment. The issues and conditions someone is dealing with may be considered the same, yet, each person, experience and response is unique to their health and wellbeing. Symptoms and mobility functions are assessed each time a client comes in, whether new or returning. All aspects of your day to day life can effect how you feel at any given time. It is my goal to help my clients connect with their own energy and embrace their lives through joy and physical and emotional engagement.

I am an LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist), specializing in Shiatsu and energetic healing. I have trained with master teachers throughout the United States and Europe and am always gathering additional educational experience to further support my clients needs and desires.

I commonly ask my clients questions about their daily life; How are you feeling today? Right now? Is this a feeling you’ve been having for a while? Are you ready to let it go?

My approach with clients is one of listening to what they do say and what their body tells me. The approach is gentle, utilizing various techniques to help solve problems and create new strategies in the body so we aren’t simply repeating the same patterns over and over again.

Working with the whole body, rather than focusing only on an area of pain or discomfort (that may or may not be where the root of the problem is), can have a more profound and longer lasting effect on improving not only the discomfort that inspired you to contact me, but your whole body’s ability to respond to the ongoing challenges and stress in this ever-changing symphony of life.

Shiatsu allows for releasing trapped patterns of tension in your body whether from injuries, physical demands, emotional traumas or postural habits. Releasing old patterns can lead to increased energy and flexibility and open the door so you can respond in new ways to all circumstances of your life.

You are not your illness or condition. I work with each person individually. Shiatsu is not a cure for any illness, stress, injury or trauma but can help our body’s physically and mentally respond to the demands and support internal communication with our whole body.
